I love tasting the food of other countries and looking for interesting places to eat on trips. That’s why in today’s post we have prepared a list of restaurants where to eat in Naxos, with all the places we liked in our visit to the island.
Planning a vacation? Looking for an adventure? Here are 101 crazy things to do before you die.
We have prepared a list of places to eat in Naxos, with all the restaurants we tried and recommend.
- Greek gastronomy is exquisite, try all the dishes you can.
- The Greek taverns have very good food at a good price (between 6 and 12 Euros per person)
- The cheapest and fastest option is gyros.
- What is expensive is the drink, both soda and beer and alcoholic beverages.
- The service in the restaurants is very fast and the staff in general is very friendly and nice.
- It is not superfluous to leave a tip if the food and service has been good.
- Ordering coffee with milk in Greece is Mission Impossible. I don’t drink coffee but my friends faced a big challenge every time they had to order it.
Where to eat in Naxos at the beach
The normal thing in Naxos is to spend one or several days on the beach, as on this island we have plenty of cool beaches. Surely you catch a half-day on a beach and want to try a cool restaurant.
Tortuga Restaurant – Playa Plaka
We recommend the Tortuga Restaurant which is located on Plaka Beach. It is not a Greek tavern, which is what I always recommend in Naxos and in Greece in general, but it is a great change.
We ordered several dishes to share, more elaborate dishes than in a tavern, and it cost us 23 Euros per person with drinks and beer. Everything was very good. Highly recommended.
Where to eat in Naxos in Chora
The town of Chora will normally be your base and where you will have your hotel, so it is important to know some options of restaurants where to eat in the capital of the island.
If you want to cut costs, the best option is always the gyros. They drive me crazy. In the port of Chora we find the Yasouvlaki restaurant, highly recommended.
The gyros were very good and cost us 3.50 Euros per person with drinks and beer.
This traditional Greek food restaurant is more than recommended. The food was exquisite, the treatment and the service perfect. Highly recommended.
We had several tapas, to share, of traditional Greek cuisine and the price was 10,50 Eur per person with drinks and beer.
If you want to have breakfast outside you can’t miss these crepes that were incredible.
The price of the complete breakfast was 8 Euros per person.

Another recommendation is a Greek tavern located in the town of Halki.
You’ll surely spend a day visiting the villages in Naxos. So this day we recommend you to go to eat in Halki.
Giannis Tavern in Halki
The Giannis tavern in Halki is one of the places to eat that you can’t miss. We saw it recommended in many forums and the truth is that it has a well deserved fame. The place is very cool because the tables are located in a square covered by a vine roof.
We ate several typical Greek dishes, such as Greek salad and musaka, and it cost us 12.75 Euros per person with drinks and beer.
We recommend it 100%.
Best place for a drink in Naxos
For a drink in Chora we recommend the bar 520 Cocktail Bar in the port with a good view. Although the whole area of the port is full of places with a lot of atmosphere.
In Maragas Beach and Agia Anna there were many restaurants and bars with people enjoying a drink watching the sunset.
